PSI Project: An OSEP Grant

Lauri Krouse, M.Ed., CI, CT, has a Master of Education in Interpreting Pedagogy from Northeastern University in Boston. She has been teaching for the University of Northern Colorado in their ASL English Interpreting program since 2009. Ms. Krouse created curriculum and taught and mentored with the Rural Interpreter Skill Enhancement (RISE) grant to increase the number of skilled interpreters working in the communities of Colorado. She also enjoys working with interpreters and interpreting students throughout the country in workshops, training modules, or mentoring. She is one of the co-authors of Self-paced Modules for Educational Interpreter Skill Development (1996).

Ms. Krouse has worked as a certified interpreter (CI, CT) for over 30 years. She has worked in private practice both in the western part of Massachusetts and in Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota working in a variety of settings including medical, mental health, addiction and recovery, legislative, governmental, corporate, vocational rehabilitation services, post-secondary and K-12 educational, conference, legal and performing arts. Ms. Krouse has also worked for Video Relay Services and has worked extensively on various virtual platforms since the beginning of the pandemic.

When not teaching or interpreting. Ms. Krouse enjoys spending time with her partner and their children and grandchildren as well as her dog. All of these bring her great joy.
