Professional/Academic Experience

My name is Olivia Sponsler-Sanchez, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Northern Colorado pursuing degrees in Psychology and Music. I plan to attend a doctoral program in cognitive neuroscience upon completion of my degree program, and begin a career in research and professorship. My current research interests include intergenerational trauma and chronic pain disorders of the nervous system. In the future, I would like my work to contribute to the health of communities that are largely subjected to intergenerational trauma that is based in marginalization. Personal investment in my communities lies close to my heart, and I am proud to be a sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated and the co-founder/Past-President of UNC’s own Zeta Chi chapter. I am also a proud alumna of the National Hispanic Institute, and serve every summer to execute programming for promising Latinx youth that fosters community pride and encourages visionary leadership.
