Biography

Hello, my name is Meagan Kunitzer. I am a senior majoring in sociology with a minor in gender studies. I am currently on the super senior track in the McNair program, so my academic goals include completing my research project, graduating, and getting accepted into *fingers crossed* a Ph.D. program in the spring. When I’m not working on something school related I enjoy being outside with my dog and partner. I love hiking; although, I never go nearly as often as I would like. I am not a Colorado native; I was born and raised in Big Rapids, Michigan and lived there until I joined the Navy and that is how I ended up in Greeley, Colorado at UNC. I have received Awards of Excellence within my disciplines for Outstanding Achievement in Sociology and Outstanding Achievement in Gender Studies. I am currently a part of the Salute Honor Society, an honor society for high achieving veterans. Presently, I am professionally affiliated with Alpha Kappa Delta, the sociological honor society; Sociology Club at UNC; and the Pacific Sociological Association. Needless to say, I like to stay busy and hold myself to high standards in my educational endeavors.
