Biography

I like to go by the name of Glenn Harter, not Glen; just in case an N falls off, there is still the correct pronunciation. I’m proud to say I am a Colorado native, spending all of my childhood up against the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs. I recognized my passion for chemistry my junior year of high school, and I haven’t looked back since then. My official major is biochemistry, and I plan to graduate in May of 2019. Since I could walk I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, and since I’ve been enrolled in UNC, I’ve wanted to be a scientific researcher. Thankfully there is such a thing as a MD-PhD, in which I will hope to become a researcher in areas such as cancer and/or Alzheimer’s. I am a fanatic of electronic dance music, and some may even call me an addict. The last time I counted the number of shows I’ve attended, it was 159 over the last two years, with the tally most likely closer to 180 and counting. I have been given an opportunity of a lifetime and can’t wait for these next two years as a McNair scholar and researcher.
