Spight, Johnson shine on Senior Night

Seniors Andre Spight and Anthony Johnson both turned in brilliant performances Saturday, leading the University of Northern Colorado men’s basketball team to a 97-80 win over Southern Utah. Spight, Johnson, Tyler Loose and Tanner Morgan were all honored in a pre-game ceremony before the final home game at Bank of Colorado Arena.

A Selective Campus Climate-An Opinion

On January 31, fliers for a white supremacist organization were posted around campus at the University of Northern Colorado. Word quickly spread around campus that a hate group was in the area, and that they could be a potential threat to students of color at the university.

UNC Men Strengthen Tourney Position With Win Over Southern Utah

Senior Guards Andre Spight and Anthony Johnson Jr. combine for 65 points to shake off the Bears slow start and defeat the Thunderbirds 97-80 on senior night. With only four games left before the Big Sky conference tournament begins UNC (18-10, 9-6) and Southern Utah (10-15, 4-10) were both looking for a win.

Smith hits game-winning 3-pointer in OT, UNC beats Weber State 71-69

Savannah Smith’s game-winning three pointer with 0.4 seconds left in overtime gave the University of Northern Colorado women’s basketball team a 71-69 victory over Weber State Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena. The junior guard led the Bears with 27 points and was one of three players in double figures.

Big Night for Davis Means Big Win for Bears

The University of Northern Colorado Men’s basketball team rode point guard Jordan Davis’s huge night in an 85-82 point victory over Idaho State. Davis, the junior starting point guard out of Las Vegas, scored a team high 24 points on 10-15 from the field.

UNC goes down against Hornets

Northern Colorado took on Sacramento State Friday afternoon at Work Out West and lost 5-2. UNC battled hard early on, but what would seem like a great start to the day would only get worse for the Bears later on. UNC’s Kyle Pease and Tommy Smalley teamed up to defeat Dom Miller and Donald Hall 6-2 in the first match.

UNC men's basketball loses hard-fought game to Montana, 88-79

The University of Northern Colorado men’s basketball team lost a hard fought game Thursday, falling to Montana 88-79 at Bank of Colorado Arena. The Bears were led once again by senior guard Andre Spight, who had 32 points. Spight was perfect from the line, making all 11 of his free throws.

Spight sets single-game record, UNC beats Montana State 86-63

Senior guard Andre Spight set the single-game school record with 41 points Saturday, and the University of Northern Colorado men’s basketball team beat Montana State 86-63. It was Kid’s Day at Bank of Colorado Arena, and 1,617 fans saw perhaps the greatest performance in program history.
