Professor in the College of Education. Specialist in integrating mathematics and other areas, particularly social studies; ethnomathematics, naturally occurring mathematical experiences in children's lives; children's literature for teaching and learning mathematics; mathematical problem posing and problem solving; and democracy and education. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, has written for several publications and presented at a number of conferences.
