Student Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA)

SNDA is open to all registered UNC students who are interested in the study of Nutrition and Dietetics, including Dietetics majors, Nutrition majors and Nutrition minors. It promotes the field of dietetics to the student body and community. A nominal fee for the membership is required.


  1. Provide nutrition information and promote sound nutrition practices among the community and peers.
  2. Provide opportunities for members to participate in volunteer activities, as well as to become familiar with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Meet Your Officers for 2019-20

Amanda HutchisonAmanda Hutchison


Amanda is dietetics major in her senior year, and hopes to work in a maternal and child based community nutrition program or with pediatrics someday. Other than SNDA, she is an ambassador for the College of Natural and Health Sciences, works at Zoe’s Cafe, volunteers on a local non-profit food truck, and runs a photography business.

Michaela HarveyMichaela Harvey

Vice President

Michaela is in her senior year as a dietetics major with a minor in Spanish, who eventually would like to do something with dietetics that involves individual food counseling, but is keeping an open mind as she enters her internship next year! Michaela is also a Delta Zeta at UNC and has had many leadership roles through her involvement in Greek life. She enjoys incorporating her knowledge of dietetics and pursuing a healthy lifestyle into those roles.

Ashley KruegerAshley Krueger

Secretary/Social Media Coordinator

Ashley is a dietetics major in her senior year, who is looking forward to continuing her education next year by pursuing a Master’s degree along with an internship, and ultimately aims to work as GI Dietitian in a clinical setting. In her free time, Ashley enjoys hanging out with friends and her cat, as well as practicing yoga and art. She is looking forward to an exciting year with SNDA!

Taylor BealTaylor Beal


Taylor is a dietetics major in her senior year who wants to work in child and maternal clinical nutrition. Her career goal is to become a Doctor of osteopathic medicine and to use nutrition to help treat and to help prevent disease. Taylor has one dog and loves to paint and read.
