Hometown: Monrovia, CA
Current City: Denver, CO
Employer: Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE)
Title: Family Planning Coordinator

"The MPH program gave me a very strong foundation of multiple areas of public health. Coming into a diverse workforce, I am able to reflect on all of the concentrations of CSPH and how they relate to my current position."

Emily Shore, MPH '13

Hometown: Fort Collins, CO
Current City: Aurora, CO

Employer: Stapleton Foundation
Title: be well Health and Wellness Youth Program Manager

"I initially went to UNC for the Certificate in Public Health Sciences and was immediately drawn in by the wonderful staff and interesting classes. After completing the Certificate program, it was a no-brainer that I would continue my MPH at UNC. My professors and classmates were so encouraging and although I considered other concentrations at other schools, I knew my MPH would be most enjoyable at UNC."

christymarie Jackson, MPH '13

Hometown: Denver, CO
Current City: Aurora, CO

Employer: Denver Public Health
Title: Youth Health Specialist

"I wanted to be at UNC because of the openess and kindness of not only the staff, but also the students. Being a person of color, UNC had much more diversity than what I had experinece as the UCD campus. The faculty at UNC were fun and engaging. I had more hands on opportunities at UNC. I got a chance to have smaller class sizes which fit my type of learning style. It was worth every mile I drove from Denver to Greeley."

Audrey Baird, MPH '15, CHES

Hometown: Motherwell, Scotland
Current City: Fort Collins

Employer: University of Northern Colorado
Title: Adjuct Lecturer, Human Services

"The program not only gave me the academic knowledge to teach community health topics but also helped to improve my teaching skills as throughout the MPH program we were constantly presenting in class and ultimately for our capstone. The program also allowed me to make contact with organizations in the community that I have now involved in my teaching practice, including friends and colleagues from the MPH program!"

Rachel ARTZ-Steinberg, MPH '14

Hometown: Greeley, CO
Current City: Greeley, CO

Employer: North Colorado Health Alliance
Title: Care Management Supervisor

"A personal journey led me to discover and better understand the huge importance of public health. I began looking at public health programs and discovered there was one right in my backyard. I knew that I wanted to pay in-state tuition and I had just bought a house in Greeley so I considered programs at CSU as well as UNC."

Julie Kirby-Hines, MPH '13

Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO
Current City: Hot Sulphur Springs, CO

Employer: Grand County Public Health
Title: Health Education Coordinator

"I received my undergrad degree (BS, Human Services) at UNC, so it was a natural fit to continue on the path of Community Health Education since I had already relocated to Greeley. It felt like it was the best of both worlds. With the program being under the larger umbrella of ColoradoSPH, there were many options to commute to or to take online. Yet the smaller feel of UNC made it easy to feel connected to my program, the staff, and fellow students."
