Biography

My name is Danielle C. Ananea, and I am a senior at the University of Northern Colorado. I am majoring in Anthropology but my studies are almost always multidisciplinary. Fort Collins is my home, but I currently live in Greeley with my daughter. While I served as the Vice President of Scholarship I was provided an opportunity to experience research for the first time. This process was under the guidance of the Honor’s in Action project through Phi Theta Kappa’s Honor Society. This project inquired about public awareness of the social resources available for families with children aged 9-21 who have been charged with status crimes or are at risk for being charged with status crimes within the juvenile justice system. My current research is trying to understand the lived experience of people who experience homelessness. I am very interested in social resource allocation, effectiveness, and looking at ways to improve the experience of all parties as well as using funds effectively. I am looking forward to immediately pursuing my Master’s degree in public health with a multidisciplinary approach so that I am well prepared to follow up with my PhD. I love to take things as they come and I am excited for a bright future wherever it might take me.
