Professional/Academic Experience

Hello everyone, my name is Joelle Jenkins and my major is Environmental and Sustainability Studies with a minor in biology. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. My passion is ecology, environmental science, and sociology. Outside of McNair, I have taken pride in being involved in my community as much as possible. The past two years I have taken on the different roles of Green Team Coordinator, Public Relations Officer, and President with the Student Leadership for Environmental Action Fund (Student LEAF) here on campus. I am also the Benedict Ornithology Lab Illustrator and Graphic Designer. After finishing my undergrad, I hope to get my masters or Ph.D. in Sociology with the goal of pursuing a career in environmental sociology after I am finished with school. My overall goal is to get different cultural and social groups involved with the environment. Fun fact: my favorite animal is a spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) because their social structure is one of the most unique out of the entire animal kingdom.
