Biography

My name is Tia Kilgore, and I’m an Audiology and Speech-Language Science student here at UNC. I am not a Colorado native, and while Colorado has been kind to me, I’m definitely shooting to get back to the homeland (Oregon)! Last year, I worked with Dr. Tina Stoody to look at how Deaf culture is (or is not) involved in the cochlear implant decision-making process. I have no idea whether I’d like to pursue audiology or speech, but I figure I’ve still got some time to figure it out. When I’m not busy with school, I spend my time with my growing family. I am so blessed to be a part of this program and to constantly be surrounded by people who are so focused on making an impact in their individual fields.
