The desk at the Arlington Park apartments will be closed from 10 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday due to staffing issues. The Division of Student Affairs is struggling to find staff to work the mid-day shift. Current staff are not able to work due to class schedules.
The desk staff is in charge of receiving packages, along with logging and protecting student information. They are available at the desk during hours of operation to help students. Packages delivered during this time will still be received. Delivery drivers will be made aware of the location’s hours of operation.
While the desk is closed, Megan Dolezal residential coordinator for the Arlington Park apartments, will be on call for emergencies.
Joslyn Joseph, a desk assistant at Arlington Park, wants students to know someone will always be available to help them.
“There is a phone number at the bottom of the paper on the door that will connect you to a faculty member who can come and help you,” Joseph said. “Whether that be getting a package, getting a lock-out card, or a lock-out hard key or any questions you would normally come and ask someone at the desk.”
The university is looking for more staff to fill the gaps in the schedule and soon hours will be back to normal.
