TikTok, the viral app relied on by social media users nationwide, is facing a potential ban across the United States due to concerns over data breaching and its connections to China. The controversy surrounding the app has sparked nationwide controversy and debates.

Taitum Berryhill, a nursing sophomore at the University of Northern Colorado, expressed mixed feelings about the ban. While acknowledging that China might be stealing data, she didn't have an issue with the idea.

“I just pretend it’s not happening,” Berryhill said. “I’m sure that they’re taking data, but you can take data from anything on your phone.”

Taitum believes that despite the concerns, TikTok's popularity will likely keep it from being banned permanently.

Users like Taitum are making sure to preserve their TikTok connections, following creators on other platforms like Instagram to ensure they don't miss out on content if the app is banned.

With TikTok’s future still uncertain, users continue to enjoy the platform while they can, unsure of when the last scroll might come.
