The University of Northern Colorado College Journalism program, plays a significant role in informing our community about important events, issues, and ideas. Bear News, a student-run news operation, is committed to providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.

Our news team covers various topics that cater to the student body, staff, and faculty at UNC, reporting on news and enterprise stories. In a democratic society, the news is crucial in holding those in power accountable and engaging the community. At Bearnewsource, we strive to provide our community with the information they need to make informed decisions.

In addition to informing and engaging our community, Bear News aims to foster a sense of community by providing a platform for student voices. Our college journalists express their opinions, share their experiences, and highlight the achievements of students, faculty, and staff.

Furthermore, as a college journalism platform, Bear News serves as a training ground for future journalists. We provide hands-on experience that helps students develop the skills they need to pursue careers.
