Even though it is winter, that does not mean you cannot still go to a farmer’s market in Greeley.
For more than 20 years, the City of Greeley has offered an opportunity for local vendors to sell their products to people in the community.
Between 9 and 12 in the morning people from around Greeley showed up to Zoe’s Café to peruse the local products. There were thirteen tables that filled the café and offered local products like meats, jams, spices and coffee.
Joe Parker, the-onsite manager for the Greeley Farmer’s Market, said that this year’s winter farmer’s market was more focused on food related items and not necessarily craft materials.
“At a farmer’s market, you will want to get things that are local and fresh,” Parker said.
One of the vendors at the market was Top Notch Beef. They sell meat that has been bred and raised in Pierce.
The owner of Redemption Road Coffee was there and refers to his coffee as “Coffee for the Soul”. He was selling coffee bags for less than $20 and offered small samples of his coffee.
A popular vendor is at the Greeley Farmer’s market Eden Herbs and Flowers. Many consumers were at the table buying fresh greens vegetables like spinach, kale, and arugula.
Parker said that the farmer’s market is a great tool and resource for local farmer’s and consumers who hope to have organic and the best products in and around Northern Colorado.
“As we provide the space, it’s not our market it’s their (vendors) market…It’s your market as the consumer,” Parker said.
The winter farmer’s market at Zoe’s Cafe is on the first and third Saturdays at until April.
