Student Health Insurance Program
All Undergraduate students taking 9 or more credit hours and all Degree Seeking Graduate students with 6 or more credits, regardless of the type of class (on campus, off campus, online only) are required to have full coverage health insurance. You will automatically be charged for the UNC Student Health Insurance Plan and the cost will be added to your UNC student bill.
Students have the option to waive out of the plan by completing the online insurance waiver showing proof of comparable coverage prior to the deadline, which is always the 10th day of classes each semester. If you waive the insurance plan for Fall semester, the charge for Spring semester will also be waived. If you have questions regarding re-enrollment in the UNC Insurance Plan, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 970-351-1915.
