Earn your master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) through a nationally recognized program that will prepare you for career success.

In the CMHC program at UNC, you’ll gain skills to work with children, youth and adults via intense academic preparation, clinical training with live supervision and feedback, and extensive field experience opportunities. You’ll work closely with dedicated, knowledgeable and approachable faculty who bring diverse research and professional clinical experiences to the classroom. You’ll also benefit from a wide range of networking opportunities that will help you to get established in the field. This program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP), enabling you to become a Nationally Certified Counselor when you graduate, and ensuring that foundational academic requirements are met for licensure across the nation.

Whether you're a full-time graduate student or plan to continue employment as you pursue your master’s degree, we have an option to meet your needs. Our Greeley campus, which includes our state-of-the-art Psychological Services Clinic, offers a more traditional graduate school experience in a semester-long format. Our Denver and Loveland Centers offer a more flexible delivery in a weekend-based format, specifically developed for working professionals. All three are parallel programs in all other ways: offering the same courses, taught by the same instructors, with the same course requirements and assignments.
