Postponement of FLSA Overtime Rules
On November 22nd, a U.S. District Court judge from Texas issued a preliminary injunction postponing the effective date of the U.S Department of Labor (DOL)'s overtime rule. The rule was scheduled to go into effect December 1. It is expected that Department of Labor will appeal this ruling quickly, however it is uncertain how long the appeal may take. At this time we would like all employees, who we have determined as overtime eligible, to track their time in the Time Clock plus system starting December 1. For employees who had salary adjustments that were to go into effect December 1, the University has decided to proceed forward with these adjustments. Salary increases will still take effect December 1.
