Program Offerings
The School of Mathematical Sciences offers a wide range of degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. We have separate information pages for undergraduate programs, master's programs, Math TLC programs, and our doctoral program in educational mathematics.
Bachelor of Science Degrees
Our Undergraduate Mathematics page contains information on the majors and minors we offer, including the mathematics, mathematics education, and computer science concentrations available in the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree. Includes four-year plans.
The Catalog Description of the Undergraduate Program in UNC's online course catalog is the official description of undegraduate majors and minors offered by the School of Mathematical Sciences.
Graduate Studies
Our Graduate Studies page contains more details on graduate programs offered through the School of Mathematical Sciences, including information on applying, financial support, faculty research, recent graduates, and the graduate student handbook.
Masters of Arts Degrees
The Master's in Middle Level Mathematics page contains helpful information on applying to the master's program for K-8 teachers interested in gaining additional expertise in teaching middle-level mathematics.
The Master's Program for Secondary Teachers page describes program and application information for current secondary mathematics teachers looking for additional graduate-level mathematics and mathematics education coursework.
Math TLC
See the Mathematics Teacher Leadership Center website for additional information on the two programs for secondary mathematics teachers:
Doctor of Philosophy
Our Ph.D. in Educational Mathematics program is one of the largest mathematics education doctoral programs offered by a U.S. mathematics department (see recent graduates). For interested students who do not have a master's degree in mathematics or mathematics education, we have an associated Master's en Route program.
