Welcome
Welcome to the Home Page for the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Program (ELPS). Recent reorganizations in the College of Education and Behavioral Studies brought the two programs of the former Division of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with others into the new school of Educational Research, Leadership and Technology. The program in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership (HESAL) is closely affiliated. The Mission Statement clarifies our beliefs, and the links on the left provide you details on degree and licensure possibilities. The M.A. and Ed.S. degrees address all levels of education, and the Ed.D. and licensure programs prepare individuals for future careers in P-12 education.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us using the link “Contact Us” on the left side of your screen."

NAIL INFORMATION – FALL 2008
ELPS and Special Education faculty have collaborated to develop a Native American Innovative Leadership (NAIL) program delivered through online learning technologies and face-to-face summer meetings. The first cohort graduated in May 2008 and 18 more participants will graduate in May 2009 with a Master of Arts degree and licensure for principal and special education director administrative positions. A request to fund two additional cohorts will be submitted in March 2009 to the Office of Indian Education and, if funded, will be recruiting for cohort participants in August 2009 for classes to begin in January 2010. The program consists of 13 classes over a period of 2 years. For information on the program for the first two cohorts, visit the NAIL website.
School districts serving Native American students can contact Linda Vogel, Project Director, to discuss the possibility of developing a district cohort to build Native American administrative capacity. Linda can be reached by phone at 970-351-2119 or E-mail Linda Vogel.
