Graduates, current students and faculty of the University of Northern Colorado's School of Theatre Arts and Dance have advanced their careers during the last few months of 2014.

David Schmitz was named the new executive director of the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago.

Erica Sweany will make her Broadway debut Nov. 23 when Honeymoon in Vegas, the new musical starring Tony Danza that’s based on the 1992 film of the same name, opens on Broadway. To date, 23 different UNC alumni have performed on Broadway in 49 different productions.

Hannah Marie Hines and Andi Davis have both been cast in supporting roles in the new Michael Landon, Jr. feature film Christmastime, which will be shot this winter in Boulder.

STAD Director David Grapes opens his 12th production of Christmas in the Smokies at Dollywood on Nov. 9. He was assisted this year by choreographer and recent alumna Rachel Richards.

Jesse Datino just appeared in a production of King Lear at Chicago Shakespeare.

Ryan Dining appeared in the Oct. 12 and 26 episodes of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

The upcoming Denver Center Attractions production of Forbidden Broadway Alive and Kickin’ will include STAD senior Josh Archer and alumnus Chad Reagan.

Royce Wood is appearing in a new television ad for the Colorado lottery. He’s also currently performing in Buried Child at the Edge Theatre Company in Denver.

Nich Witham is appearing in The Glass Menagerie at InterPLAYERS in Spokane, Washington.

Amanda Clark is appearing in a production of Frankenstein at the Swine Palace Theatre in Baton Rouge, Louisana.

Mark Drum has been cast in The Blind, part of The Cutthroat Series - Grand Guignol Duels: (Pod Three) Night Terrors, which goes up in November at The Flea Theatre in New York City. He will also attend the Georgia Thespian Conference, where he will be teaching a Beginning Hip Hop workshop.

Aaron Young appeared onboard a Panama Canal cruise in A Frankie Valli tribute act called “The Unexpected Boys.”

Jordan Crozier and Jessica Enright are currently starring in The Evergreen Players production of Bright Ideas in Denver.

Malorie Felt has been cast to play Katniss for a popular YouTube channel’s spoof on The Hunger Games trilogy. She’s also been cast in a short Indie film called Burning Memories.

Michael Despars has been elected to the position of vice president of Public High Schools with the California Educational Theatre Association. He also received the Theatre Leadership Award at the recent California Educational Theatre Association 2014 Conference.

Teya Patt just appeared on the show Review for the Comedy Channel.

Mallory McKenzie is currently performing stand-up comedy at Flappers in Burbank, California.

Michael Ortiz has accepted a new position as the assistant technical director at the Santa Fe Opera Company in New Mexico.

Jack Wefso is currently performing in the regional premiere of Good Television at the Aurora Fox Theatre in Denver. He’s also been cast in the theater’s upcoming production of Red Ranger Came Calling.

Davey Rosenberg just completed a stint in Cortland Repertory's (CT) Ring of Fire, and now is in rehearsals for Peter Mills' new musical The Underclassmen at the York Theatre in New York City.

Tiffany Eaton appeared in an episode of the TV show Scandal.

Ashley Betton was part of the singing group that performed the National Anthem for the Women's U.S. Open Tennis Finals on CBS.

Sylvia Brasuell has accepted a new position as an assistant to the Theatrical department at the BBR Agency in Los Angeles.

Jessica Carter Ramsey just completed filming an indie film, The Tour, and the TV series Assistance.

Zachary Twardowski is now a camera production assistant on the TV show Portlandia.

Autumn Norman has been cast as Cathy in the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville production of The Last Five Years.

McKayla Marso has been cast in the upcoming production of A Christmas Story at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington.

Molly Evensen will be appearing as a part of District 13 in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1and Part 2.

Desiree Gagnon appeared in 99 Histories at the Lounge Theatre in Los Angeles.

Eva Laporte has accepted a new position as the education manager at Chicago Children's Theatre and is appearing in a new play titled Outside Agitation for Chicago’s 20% Theatre Company.

Yumarie Morales has been cast in a yearlong Theatre for Young Audiences project at the 24th Street Theatre in downtown LA.

Drew Martin has joined fellow alumna Jamie Milles on the national tour of Anything Goes.

Anna Landy and Noelle Pederson both start rehearsals to be main stage performers next week for Disney Cruise Lines.

Hayden Stanes has extended his Disney Cruise Lines contract for another six months.

Jenna Moll Reyes and Anne Terze Schwarz are both appearing in Miss Saigon at the Town Hall Arts Center in Fort Collins.

Andi Davis was nominated for an LA Theatre Ovation Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her work as Inga in Young Frankenstein at Musical Theatre West.

Melissa Kidd and Greg LaVoi are both working as costume designers on the new TNT TV show Major Crimes.

McLeish Day has been cast in a new 2015 LA film project titled Scramble.

TJ Dawson is directing a production of Ragtime for 3D Theatricals (California) that also features Natalie Sachse in the ensemble.

Andrea Spraycar has accepted a new position as properties crafts apprentice at The Santa Fe Opera in New Mexico.
