
Kevin Ahern has 40 years of experience as an executive, entrepreneur, and operator in the financial services industry including commercial banking, private equity, institutional investment management, alternative investments, wealth management, insurance, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions. Kevin is currently a co-founder and managing partner of Brush Creek Partners, a private opportunistic investment vehicle formed in 2020 to focus on making investments in operating companies in the specialty finance, banking and financial services, manufacturing, distribution, media, business, and consumer services sector. He is also a Senior Advisor at Castle Creek Capital, a private equity firm that focuses on the community banking industry.
Kevin served two terms on the Board of Trustees for the University of Northern Colorado (2013-2020). He formerly served on the Foundation Board Investment Committee (1995-2013) and then on the board of the UNC Foundation (2011-2013). Early in his tenure as chair of the Investment Committee, he helped lead the effort to bring on Innovest as professional portfolio advisers. He served as chairman of the Dean's Leadership Council of the Kenneth W. Monfort College of Business (MCB), a group he served for more than a decade. Additionally, Kevin has served as an adjunct instructor, teaching an undergraduate senior-level investments course where students manage approximately $1 million for the UNC Foundation in the Student and Foundation Fund (SAFF) class. He has also been a judge for the MCB Entrepreneurial Challenge.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Kevin received an MBA with an emphasis in finance from the Univeristy of Connecticut in 1991 and a BS in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1985.
Kevin and his wife Annie, reside in Denver, CO and have two married adult children and two grandchildren.
