Jan L. Chaloupka, Associate Professor

B.S. in Physics, University of Washington (1992)
M.A. in Physics, University of Rochester (1994)
Ph.D. in Physics, University of Rochester (1999)

Research interests include: Strong-field laser-matter interactions, ultrafast laser science, adaptive beam shaping, numerical modeling of atoms in strong fields, super-continuum generation in fibers, optical vortex generation, schlieren imaging, high-speed imaging and photography.

Experience includes a postdoctoral appointment at Brookhaven National Laboratory and a faculty position at the College of William & Mary.

Dr. Chaloupka has taught at UNC since 2009.
