The University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will host a community conversation about immigration in northern Colorado Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5:30- 7 p.m. in the University Center's Panorama room. Cost is $5 per person (free for UNC students with current ID), and the deadline for reservations is Friday, Sept. 6.
Professor of Hispanic Studies Priscilla Falcon will present an analysis of the issue, including how the community as responded to immigrant populations in the past, how new populations integrate into traditional settlements and recent legislative changes to immigrant populations' access to higher education.
An interactive, open dialogue will follow for attendees to share their concerns, experiences and informational resources on immigration. Light refreshments will be served.
