The University of Northern Colorado's popular series of free Tuesday night outdoor summer concerts kicks off its 2013 season July 9 with a performance by the Colorado Chamber Players, a Denver-based six-piece ensemble in its 19th season, at 8 p.m. in the Garden Theatre.
The season's other concerts include the Colorado Jazz Orchestra, featuring current faculty from UNC's Jazz Studies program, on July 16; Boulder Brass, a versatile brass ensemble in its 20th year, on July 23; and Quemando, a 12-piece salsa band from Denver, on July 30.
All concerts begin at 8 p.m. in the Garden Theatre and are free. Blankets, picnic food and lawn chairs are welcome.
The series, sponsored by the College of Performing and Visual Arts' School of Music, has been an integral part of the regional summer music scene since 1931. For additional information, call 351-2993.
