There's a variety of ways to find out if UNC is closed due to weather or for some other reason.
- You can call the inclement weather line at 970-351-4100 or log on to http://www.unco.edu for updates on the university's operating status.
- Closures are also reported to area media outlets, including Denver TV stations.
- Also, notifications of closures are sent to campus phones and computers through voice, e-mail and text messages and to subscribed cell phones through text and voice messages from UNC's Emergency Alert system.

If you receive an emergency alert saying the university is closed, calling the UNC Police Department to confirm the information is not necessary.
