Dr. Farber led a $100,000 HIVE Digital Media Learning Fund Catalyst Grant in 2016, along with Games for Change, to facilitate and document a series of social impact student game jams. He has been invited to the White House, and has been interviewed about games and learning by NPR, Fox News Radio, USA TODAY, and The Wall Street Journal. Dr. Farber is also an Edutopia blogger, a Certified BrainPOP Educator, and he is in the iCivics Educator Network. 

Research/Areas of Interest

Dr. Farber’s research is at the intersection of connected learning in teacher education, learning technologies, and game-based learning. He ponders how educators use games in their classrooms to give students agency, while also teaching skills of empathy, systems thinking, and design thinking.
