Spring 2014

Students, faculty, staff and community members are introduced to Campus Commons and invited to share their ideas through focus groups and graffiti walls

Summer 2014

Campus Commons steering committee publishes a program plan detailing the project vision, scope, financing, facility requirements and construction schedule

UNC submits request for funding to the State of Colorado and begins the process of presenting the Campus Commons to the state’s legislative representatives

Fall 2014

UNC introduces Campus Commons to alumni in the Fall/Winter edition of Northern Vision

Spring 2015

UNC visits the Colorado Capital Development Committee to formally present the Campus Commons for funding consideration

The Capital Development Committee recommends funding phase 1 of the Campus Commons at $23 million moving the project forward

State funding award announced

Summer 2015

Design and contracting Phase I (July 2015 - March 2016)

Submit request for Phase II funding to the State

UNC selects Denver-based architectural firms Semple Brown and Handprint Architecture to design Campus Commons.

Fall 2015

UNC selects Adolfson & Peterson as the general contractor.

UNC celebrated ground breaking during Homecoming October 22, 2016. The celebration included live performances from the Pride of the Rockies Marching band, a visit from Governor John Hickenlooper and remarks by university leaders

UNC launches Campus Commons Performance Hall Seat Campaign for friends and patrons to name one of 600 seats in the new performance hall

Spring 2017

Construction begins - parking and transportation updates available online

Following momentum from Campus Commons fundraising, UNC announces $45 million Campaign for UNC during 2017 Honored Alumni Ceremony

Summer 2017

Provost Robbyn Wacker leads campus tour of construction site for university employees

Following an external search, Sarah Chase named director of new One Stop Plus (OS+) center

Fall 2017

Assistant Vice President for Student Success Stephanie Torrez outlines the operational and strategic vision behind the OS+ center as resource for students and faculty

President Norton highlights Campus Commons, and the opportunities for UNC's next leader, in 2017 State of the University address
