Kato Crews is a founding Partner of the law firm Hoffman Crews Nies Waggener & Foster LLP, located in Greenwood Village. He began his legal career as an attorney with the National Labor Relations Board (Region 27), and then entered private practice as an attorney with Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP, where he made Partner before leaving to establish his own firm.
Kato has been named to the Colorado Super Lawyers© list of Rising Stars multiple times since 2009 in the areas of Employment and Labor Law, and Business Litigation. In recognition of his abilities as a trial lawyer, Kato has served as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and its Miranda Trial Advocacy Institute.
Born and raised in Colorado, Kato earned his J.D. in 2000 from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, where he earned the prestigious honor of writing for the Arizona Law Review. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1997, and received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from his alma mater in 2010.
Throughout his career, Kato has sought out meaningful ways to give back to his community. He has served on the board of directors of some of Colorado’s most noteworthy non-profit organizations—he currently serves on the boards of the CHOICE Education Foundation and the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation. Kato also volunteers as a mentor with the Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program. In addition to these formal volunteer roles, Kato is personally committed to mentoring minority students and young people to help them navigate their educational and professional paths.
