Embarking on a mission to transform the student experience within Kepner Hall, Dean Colwell and the Dean's Office team are orchestrating a series of exciting changes on the garden level. Recognizing the need for a dynamic and welcoming environment, their vision encompasses a range of initiatives designed to cater to the evolving needs of the student body.

A significant stride in this endeavor involves the creation of a dedicated space for the E-Sports team on the ground level of Kepner Hall. This strategic decision not only acknowledges the surging popularity of E-Sports but also provides a central hub for enthusiasts to unite, collaborate and immerse themselves in their shared passion. This addition reflects the college's dedication to embracing diverse interests and cultivating a campus vibe that resonates with contemporary student culture. Furthermore, the gaming hub will feature a variety of collaborative games, including board games, for students to enjoy.

However, the lower level will not be exclusive to student organizations. In a bid to streamline student services and create a more accessible support system, the College's advising and student support services are gearing up to move to the lower level of Kepner Hall by semester's end. This strategic relocation aims to centralize resources, offering a more unified approach to academic guidance and student assistance. By bringing these crucial services closer to the pulse of student activities, the Dean's Office envisions an enhanced support structure for students overall.

The East Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a cornerstone resource for student entrepreneurs and community members, will remain a fixture on the lower level of Kepner Hall. As part of the strategic vision, plans are underway to expand the SBDC's full-time staff, ensuring a more robust support system for those seeking guidance in their entrepreneurial pursuits. This expansion aligns seamlessly with the college's commitment to fostering innovation and economic development within both the student body and the broader community.

While the Coffee Corner will not be making a comeback, the space is poised for a transformation designed to better cater to student needs. The envisioned self-service market will offer grab-and-go options, filling a current gap in convenient food choices on the northeast side of campus. This adaptation reflects the college's responsiveness to evolving preferences and the desire to provide practical solutions that resonate with the dynamic lifestyle of today's students.

Overall, the goal is to cultivate a more inviting, lounge-like atmosphere that sparks collaboration and community building among students. Through strategic space reorganization and a keen focus on the diverse needs and interests of the student body, the garden level is poised to become a hub where students can not only study and work but also unwind and connect with their peers.
