Jingzi (Ginny) Huang, born and educated in China, earned her Ph.D with a focus on language education from the University of British Columbia in Canada. Having taught in elementary, secondary, and university settings in China, Canada, and the US, she has been deeply involved in teacher education in the United States since 1997. Her major teaching and research interest includes classroom discourse, second and foreign language education, language/literacy across the curriculum, high quality teacher development in general and second language education teacher development in particular. Her work has been published in national and international journals such as International Journal of Applied Linguistics, Linguistics and Education, Language and Education, Language, Culture and Curriculum, Language Teaching Research, Communication Education, etc. As a professor, she was awarded the title as Distinguished Educator of the Year in 2007. Since 2011, she has been leading the most influential teacher preparation program in Colorado in her role as the school director of teacher education and the associate dean of College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado.
