Hello, hello! My name is Claire Holsinger and I am from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I'm a Junior here at the lovely University of Northern Colorado, and I'm majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in Special Education and an endorsement in English as a Second Language. I love to brew Kombucha, can home-made pickles, crochet, and eat all kinds of new foods. My mantra for life is to try everything -- regardless of whether I end up enjoying it -- just for the experience. I also LOVE music.
I have a rather peculiar story of "How I Chose UNC." In the final month of my senior year in high school, I realized that I did not want to attend the school I had initially committed to. I had heard a little bit about UNC and decided to apply on a whim. Soon after, I discovered that UNC had an amazing teacher education program; before I knew it, I was hooked to the school. Life really does work in mysterious ways, and I am so glad I chose UNC; I cannot imagine myself anywhere else.
1. I have performed in Carnegie Hall! My sophomore year of high school, my school
choir traveled to New York and performed a Blue Grass Medley in Carnegie Hall.
2. I am obsessed with my puppy, Ziggy. He is named after the one and only David Bowie's alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.
3. I love to sing all time- I also make little jingles for just about everything I do.
Honestly, any grassy or shaded area under the beautiful trees on West Campus. I love walking my puppy, Ziggy, around campus and it helps that campus is so pet friendly!
Just be nice to everyone, and don't be scared to ask questions! If you smile at everyone, people will either think you are from the Midwest, or passing gas. Both are good ice breakers!
