SUMMARY:Optimizing Mentoring Workshops for Graduate Faculty
DESCRIPTION:Optimizing Mentoring Workshops \nGraduate faculty are invited to this year’s Optimizing Mentoring Workshops — a chance to connect with colleagues and engage with one of the most rewarding parts of our work: quality mentoring of graduate students within changing landscapes. \nSessions are led by UNC graduate faculty trained through the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Research Experiences. Practical strategies and real-world examples tailored to our graduate programs will be offered in an interactive workshop format. \nAll three workshops are required for Graduate Faculty (GF) and Doctoral Research Endorsement (DRE) applications\, but they may be completed in any order. Applications cannot move forward to the Graduate Council until all three workshops are completed\, so faculty are encouraged to register early. DESCRIPTION:Seeking a part-time job while attending UNC? \nJoin us at the UNC Campus Commons for the Fall 2026 Student Employment Fair! \nFriday\, August 28\, 2026 | 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.\nMeet with UNC departments and community based employers seeking to hire students for part-time and/or work-study positions. \nThe UNC Student Employment Fair is a great opportunity for students to meet prospective community based and on-campus employers. UNC welcomes both on-campus employers and off-campus employers to connect with students looking for part-time employment. Employers can utilize the opportunity to take applications\, conduct interviews\, and may extend job offers to students during the fair. Some positions may only be available to students who qualify for work-study funding. Students can access their financial aid award letter on MyUNC to check their eligibility. \nRegistration is not required for this in-person fair! DESCRIPTION:This event provides graduate students the opportunity to present their research projects. \nParticipating graduate students are also eligible for the Hutchinson-Lahman-Larkins Research Award. This award helps graduate students present their research at a national or regional conference.
