About Me

Year: Junior

Major/Minor: Anthropology, International Relations; History

Why I want to be a part of Student Senate:There are a number of things that I myself have witnessed and that I have heard from other students wishing to see changed or amended, and I hope to provide the student body with an opportunity to not only have their voices heard on these matters, but to be aware that they even have that option in the first place.

Qualities/Experiences: I have half a decade of experience in leadership positions in various extracurricular organizations, with these roles requiring a strong ability to work as part of a team and to mediate conflicts. As part of my degree program, I have had to learn to present information clearly, concisely, and in a way that effectively navigates cultural and social boundaries, enabling me to better serve a diverse student body.

2022-2023 Goals

I intend to review the kitchen equipment in the dining halls, as issues have been noted with the cleanliness of cups, plates, and other dishes which are most likely due either to malfunctioning equipment or human error. Similarly, I would like to evaluate the vending machines across campus, whose card-readers frequently malfunction. I plan to open a forum to provide suggestions for greater accessibility of the Disabilities Resources Center and related organizations, with specific attention to be paid to how students with mental health issues can access help. This will be paired with an effort to update UNC's online resources, and to ensure that they are all up to date with the latest information in detail so that students need not go through hoops to find out the most accurate details regarding an academic program, student organization, or event offered by one of the individual colleges.
