I have worked in higher education since 2014, supporting students in the classroom, with tutoring, with academic advising, and as a School Certifying Official for VA education benefits. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English (2004) and a Master of Arts in Teaching (2008) from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. My "hometown" is Air Force, which is where I spent my childhood. My current responsibilities include working with current and former military service members and their dependents as a School Certifying Official for VA education benefits. As a UNC Degree Analyst, I also assist with graduation.
Before I came to higher ed, I was a high school teacher. My first teaching position in 2006 was at a rural school in Arkansas where I cheered for my "Bears." I joined the UNC community in February 2020, and I have to say, it's so good to be cheering for Bears again!
