Master of Science: Nursing (MSN) Advanced Nurse Generalist
The Master of Science degree in Nursing - Advanced Nurse Generalist is offered through the University of Northern Colorado in partnership with Hong Bang University International, Vietnam and has been designed to prepare the post-baccalaureate nursing student with either a non-thesis or thesis emphasis.
The non-thesis emphasis is designed to be as flexible as possible. It is intended for those who wish to expand their background in nursing content for either:
- transitioning from a clinical expert role to that of a clinical instructor/academic professor. Non-thesis students choosing this option must pass an examination in the form of a written paper.
- integrating theoretical concepts into and practice advanced nurse generalist roles. Non-thesis students choosing this option must complete a capstone project.
The thesis emphasis is designed for students wishing to broaden their background in nursing contact and to develop research skills in preparation for a doctoral program, or technical or research career. Students will gain background in nursing content and in research to allow them to enter professional fields of nursing requiring advanced training or to pursue advanced studies.
