UNC offers two Gerontology options for your post-graduate education:
Gerontology Master's Degree (MA)
The applied Gerontology master’s program centers on helping the aging adult navigate successfully through the challenges of later life. We will explore issues ranging from social policies and family relationships to community resources, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, age discrimination and more. By the time you graduate, you will be ready to take professional responsibility or leadership in the network working with older adults.
Online Gerontology Graduate Certificate Program
If you hold or are pursuing a graduate degree in another field and wish to add a Gerontology certificate to your qualifications, this 12-credit-hour program may be just what you want. The certificate is also ideal for those who hold a bachelor’s degree and have experience working in a human services related occupation. Online course topics include health and psychological aspects of aging, community resources and social policy.
