Schulze Speaker Series Concludes April 21 with Pre-Earth Day Sustainability Presentation

UNC's Schulze Interdisciplinary Speaker Series concludes Thursday, April 21, when Jennifer Hinton, co-director of the Post Growth Institute and professor of sustainability at Hellenic American University in Athens, Greece, presents "Post-Growth: A Paradigm that Creates Social Equality Through Sustainability and Not-for-Profit Economic Framework" at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center ballrooms. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

A social systems designer, Hinton teaches sustainability at the Hellenic American University in Athens, Greece, and is co-director of the Post Growth Institute, an international network of sustainability researchers and activists. Her past work has included projects on China's circular economy, ethanol production in Brazil and Sweden and lowering the ecological footprint of public schools in Greece.

Hinton holds a master's degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University, Sweden, and a bachelor's degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado. Her book titled How on Earth: Flourishing in a Not-for-Profit World by 2050, which puts forth a post-growth macroeconomic model, is in publication. More Info.
