Moore Named Honors Director at UNC

Biological Sciences Professor John Moore has been named director of the Honors Program at the University of Northern Colorado, effective Jan. 1.
Moore, who has been at UNC since 1990, earned the university's Distinguished Scholar award in 1997 and has twice been selected as the College Scholar in the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition to extensive writing, research and teaching activities, Moore has been director of UNC's Center for Pre-Collegiate Studies and Outreach and director of the university's Math and Science Upward Bound program.
"Working with motivated students is one of the privileges that we enjoy as
educators," Moore said. "I look forward to working with the students, faculty and administration to advance the high standards currently in place that were established by Dr. Ron Edgerton."
Moore takes over as director of the Honors Program from Edgerton, who resigned in the summer. Economics Professor Marie Livingston has served as interim director.
Moore holds three degrees in Zoology - a bachelor's from the University of California-Santa Barbara, a master's from Michigan State University, and a doctorate from Colorado State University. He also earned a master's degree in Statistics from Colorado State University.
