UNC Spring 2018 Job & Internship Fair Feb. 15

Approximately 80-plus employers will be recruiting for full-time and part-time jobs, and internships during the UNC Spring Job and Internship Fair on Feb. 15 in the University Center ballrooms. UNC students and alumni are encouraged to attend. Please dress professionally and bring copies of your resume. A UNC photographer will be at the fair to take your picture for your LinkedIn profile at no charge. Your picture will be emailed to you after the event.

Off-Campus Housing Fair Feb. 14

Off-Campus Life will host the Off-Campus Housing Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the lower level of the University Center. Students, faculty and staff will be able to explore living options for the 2017-18 academic year, including apartment complexes, apartments in houses, town homes and houses.

Large property management companies, independent apartment complexes, small individual landlords and realtors will provide information about their properties and related services.

Submit Nominations for M. Lucile Harrison Award by Friday

Nominations for the M. Lucile Harrison Award, which recognizes a faculty member with a long career of professional excellence, are due in the Provost's office no later than Friday, Feb. 23. Nomination letters may be submitted by faculty, staff or students and include a letter of recommendation, two additional letters of support, and the nominee's current vita.

Submissions should be sent to by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23.

Review criteria include but are not limited to: evidence of excellence and innovation in teaching, a continuous record of peer reviewed nationally/internationally disseminated research, scholarship or creative works, service to program, university, discipline or community. More information, including criteria, a list of past recipients, and complete instructions for submitting a nomination are on the Provost's Office website.

Survey: UNC, Community Partnerships Exceed 130

IFS Free Film: Yuri Kochiyama: Passion for Justice

IFS is happy to collaborate with the Asian/Pacific American Student Services to present this film at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, followed by a panel discussion led by UNC faculty Michelle Low and Travis Boyce. Yuri Kochiyama was a Japanese-American woman who lived in Harlem for more than 40 years and had a long history of activism. Through extensive interviews with family and friends, archival footage, music and photographs, Yuri Kochiyama chronicles her contribution to social change.

UNC Sustainable Bears: Tip of the Week

Let's all work together for water savings. Take shorter showers, turn off water when brushing your teeth, and report any water leaks you see to your building coordinator or RA.
