Transfer Advising

Many resources to help you feel welcome and supported as a transfer student.

Student Research Fund

Proposals may request funds for travel (either for research purposes or to present research findings), materials, supplies, equipment, and other research expenses, excluding salary.

College Student Ambassadors

Serve as a resource to assist with College events, help promote NHS majors, and provide information to campus visitors.

College Student Council

Membership is open to representatives from from each of the School and Department in the College, representatives from each chartered NHS student club, and the Dean’s Office representative (Advisor).

Bear Way 

The College of Natural and Health Sciences has developed a new student success program for pre-nursing students called Bear-Way. Bear-Way is designed to give pre-nursing students an additional layer of academic advising and support by meeting with a specialized advisor to discuss a parallel academic pathway, develop a formal backup plan, and help you to reach your goal of earning a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Student Clubs

  • American Chemical Society

    American Chemical Society

    A national society for professional chemists. The ACS student affiliate at UNC is a group of ACS members that work to improve peoples’ lives through the transforming power of chemistry both on campus and in their community.

  • American Meteorological Society

    American Meteorological Society

    This organization’s goal is to involve students in scholastic and social events on the UNC campus and to introduce students to the possibility of a career in meteorology. This chapter focuses on community outreach and education.

  • Athletic Training Society

    Athletic Training Society

    This club’s mission is to promote awareness of the allied health profession of athletic    training at the University of Northern Colorado and at the state, regional, and national levels.

  • Biological Students' Association

    Biological Students' Association

     A general biology club open to all majors and minors. 

  • College Student Council

    Membership is open to at least one representative from each of the eight Schools/Departments in NHS (Biological Sciences, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Human Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Nursing, Physics & Astronomy, and Sport and Exercise Science), one representative from each chartered NHS student club, and the Dean’s Office representative (Advisor).. 

  •  Earth Science Club

    Earth Science Club

    This club explores earth science field opportunities and enrichments that add to the formal academic education students receive. Visits to area science labs such as the U.S. Geological and Biological Survey and field sites such as Rocky Mountain National Park are typical. Professional networking with professional organizations such as the American Institute of Professional Geologists and the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists are encouraged.

    This club is affiliated as Student Chapter of the American Institute of Professional Geologists.

  •  Math Club

    Math Club

    This club offers undergraduate students the opportunity to experience math in an informal setting. Recent Math Club activities have included a panel discussion of REUs (undergraduate research experiences), a talk about doing math in Russia, and a presentation on elliptic curves and their application to cryptography.

  • National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association

    National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association

    A national organization for graduate and undergraduate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication. NSSLHA is the official national student association recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Physical Education Club
    The purpose of the Physical Education club is to promote professional and personal growth in all areas of physical education and to develop leadership potential for future professionals.
  • Pre-Physical Therapy Club

    The Pre-Physical Therapy club provides students with information, peer support, career snapshots, and professional advisement regarding PT school.

  • Recreation Management Club

    Recreation Management Club

    This organization’s mission is to further educate students in the areas of recreation and leisure by providing university and community service opportunities, and by increasing awareness of the recreation and leisure profession.

  • Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science

    Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science

    This organization’s mission is to enhance public understanding and appreciation of Hispanics, Chicanos, Latinos, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other underrepresented minorities in the sciences, to promote student recruitment and retention, and to provide a forum for all students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

  • Society of Physics Students

    Society of Physics Students

    This organization provides students with opportunities to develop effective communication, leadership, and networking skills, to visit regional science and engineering facilities, and to engage in outreach to the campus and local communities. The only requirement for membership is a passion for physics.

  • Student Academy of Audiology

    Student Academy of Audiology

    This club promotes audiology in the local community. The SAA-UNC Chapter is a professional student organization of, by and for audiology students, dedicated to advancing the education and training of future audiologists.

  •  Student Nutrition and Dietetics Association

    Student Dietetic Association

    This organization is open to all registered UNC students who are interested in the study of nutrition and dietetics, including Dietetics majors, Nutrition majors and Nutrition minors. The mission is to provide nutrition information and promote sound nutrition practices among the community and peers. It provides opportunities for members to participate in volunteer activities, as well as become familiar with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
