Professor Cindy Shellito from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, has been selected to join an international group of female scientists on an expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula. Shellito wants to prepare students of UNC “for life in the 21st century, which will involve making some tough decisions about how to respond to climate change.”
Shellito has a background in studying climate change and is planning on sharing her experience from this trip with UNC Students through the development of a virtual Antarctic field trip.
