The Stryker Institute for Leadership Development supports underrepresented women and transwomen who are full-time students seeking their degree. Through the generous gift from our donor, Ronda Stryker, the Stryker Institute has been able to serve and support over 420 students at UNC for the past 19 years.
Joining the Stryker Institute provides an opportunity for women and transwomen to be a part of a community where students grow and develop together in their awareness of self, while shaping their leadership identity.
Eligibility Includes:
- Identify as a woman or transwoman from an underrepresented group at UNC. Underrepresented identities can include, but are not limited to: Race (all racial identities other than white), Gender (women, trans-women), Sexuality (LGBTQI+), Nationality (undocumented status, DREAMers, DACA, ASSET), Class (low income, first-generation [neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree]), Parenting Status (having dependents), Age (nontraditionally aged, over the age of 25), Ability (with disabilities), Veteran
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree seeking program at the University of Northern Colorado
- Must have a minimum of 24 completed credits with a current or transfer GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Commitment to participate fully in the program, attend all workshops and complete the required projects
