Fall 2020: Moving On Campus

President Andy Feinstein helps students move in

June 19, 2020

Instead of having one official move-in day, students moving into campus housing will be spread across multiple days in order to abide by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)’s guidelines of avoiding large gatherings and maintaining social distancing.

In order to accommodate all of our students moving in, each student will be assigned a 30-minute timeslot to check-in and move all of their belongings into their room. We have assigned move-in times in a way that will prevent multiple students from moving onto the same floor or hallway at one time. Also, we will be limiting students to two support people who can accompany them into the building and assist them. Along with this, we request that anyone who enters a building to wear a mask anytime that person is outside of the student’s individual room.

We have established one-way traffic routes throughout each residence hall building/apartment/house to prevent close contact with people outside of your group. Staff will be available at each check-in station and can assist students with officially checking in while maintaining six feet of distance. Carts and dollies will be available along with cleaning supplies to disinfect before and after use.

We have carefully planned these procedures in accordance with CDC guidelines so that we can maximize the safety and health of all of our students and their families/support people. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these new procedures. Students will be notified through their BearMail of their specific date and time to move into their room on campus. A move-in guide will also be availabe online by June 30.
