Things to do over Winter Break

Winter break is a great time to catch up on many things. That being taking a winter session and getting caught up or staying on track with credits.  You can also finally get to watch your favorite show on Netflix. Winter break will either fly by or go by slow. Here are some things you can get done this break as well as some tips to get you through the end of the year! 

Complete your FAFSA

Get your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completed for the 2019-2020 academic year done. You want to make sure to complete your FAFSA by the priority deadline which is March 1, funds will be limited after this date. You can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to get your and your parents tax information. You may also now complete your FAFSA through your mobile device.

Complete your Scholarship Application 

Complete your UNC Scholarship Application through your Ursa Account. Once you are in your Ursa Account click on the "Financial" tab and then the UNC Scholarship Application. The UNC Scholarship Application has a variety and range of scholarships you may qualify and apply too. The deadline is February 1. This is also a good time to apply to other scholarships and get the applications done.

Take a Winter Interim Session 

Take a course this winter break. This is a great opportunity to catch up on credits or stay on track to graduate. The classes are going to be available online and on campus. There are a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses for you to choose from. You may register through your Ursa account. The dealine to add a course is December 11. 

Entertainment

This is a great time to catch up on your favorite series on Netflix, Hulu, or read a book. You can also find some other entertaining things to do in Greeley or in Colorado if you decide to stay on campus. 

Apply for a job

Looking for a job? Want more experience? Check out Handshake to get updates on the latest job openings on campus and around Greeley. Apply to jobs during your break. You will have time to update your resume and cover letter, maybe even contact your references. There will be job openings  on campus avalaible through work study and non-work study.

Do some self care

Now that you may not have to worry about your courses for a while, remember to relax. It is important to take of yourself and have some self-care nights/days. You can sleep in and get an extra hour of sleep and don't feel guilty for doing this, you deserve a break! You can also hit the gym and get back to a healthy habit of working out.
