Resources your Student Received or Will Receive

UNC student walking on campus.

August 17, 2018

Some students may be walking into a new environment of freedom. UNC has a variety of Support Services that your student can access at any time!

UNC also has staff members trained to support the student navigating campus life, accessing health and counseling services, providing academic and housing accommodations, helping with legal protective orders, and more.

Prevention Education and Advocacy Services

This service is available for students to learn how to stay safe if they choose to party. Keep in mind if the student consumes drugs or decides to drink they will be at risk of facing legal and university sanctions. For more information please visit the Dean of Students Office.

Assault Survivors Advocacy Program (ASAP)

This program offers confidential services to UNC students. Our Community of Bears is also committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students that is free of all forms of discrimination and sexual harassment, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

  • ASAP advocates can be reached 24/7 at (970) 351-4040 or in-person Monday-Friday (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) in Cassidy Hall.
  • If you wish to report a concern formally, you may contact the UNC Police Department at (970) 351-2245 or the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance at (970) 351-4899.  You may also complete the online reporting form at www.unco.edu/sexual-misconduct.
