Online learning has brought a lot of changes to my everyday routine. One thing that I’ve done to help adjust to remote/online learning is waking up and making my bed. This really helps put the initiative into my day and also reminds me that no, I cannot just lounge around during or in between my remote classes.

Something else that has helped me adjust is going to the Campus Rec Center everyday right when they open at 6 a.m. Setting my reservation really helps with making me feel like I have somewhere to be, and also allows me to safely get out of the house for a little bit. After getting a good workout in and having myself a home cooked breakfast, I am ready to have a nice, interactive day of remote learning.

Some resources I have used for support are the Garvey’s clubs and affiliated organizations. I am an active member and leader in Black Campus Ministries and attending those club meetings has really been a form of self-care for me.

This semester I plan on not procrastinating! Anyone who knows me know I am the procrastination queen and although things still get done, I could save myself from a lot of stress by just doing things as I am assigned work to do. Keeping a planner really helps with scheduling times I fully commit to getting “things” done.
