Marcus Garvey Cultural Center: Preparing for Midterms

I’ve never been the best at studying or test-taking as a whole. However, there are a few midterm rituals I practice to build my confidence and be successful on exams:

  • I listen to my body. Not overworking my brain or and being aware of the messages my body sends me is very important especially, when trying to retain a lot of information when studying for a content-heavy exam.
  • I make sure I eat 3 meals a day. Your body needs energy and the least I can do to ensure I function at my best is eating full meals consistently for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • I am intentional about going to the gym at least 3 days out of the week. Working out helps me to get rid of any built-up stress I have that I might not even be aware I am carrying. It’s also a nice brain break for me to stop thinking about anything outside of my mental and physical toughness.

Overall, preparing for midterms looks different for everyone! However feel free to implement any of these tips into your already developed midterm prep rituals! I'd love to see and hear how they help you!
