Care Packages

There’s nothing more exciting than getting a package in the mail, especially if you’re a busy college student. Seeing that your family was thinking about you means a lot, and there are so many ways to do this. The easiest is probably by ordering through Our Campus Market (OCM). There are several options to choose from, and they are delivered directly to your student through our Residence Hall Association here at UNC. You can also always put together your own care package and send it to your student. It’s great to include healthy snacks, something small your student enjoys (maybe a book or mug for tea), and a personal note.

Encouraging Notes

Along that same idea, little notes can make a world of difference. Texts, emails, Facebook messages, or even handwritten letters give students a boost in the midst of their busy days. These can be short or lengthy, include encouraging quotes, or even have pictures or drawings attached! Anything that will bring a smile to your student’s face is a good idea.

Patience

Like we said before, this is a busy time for students as the semester comes to a close. Remember this as you are interacting with your student. Understand that they may not be able to text or call you back right away, and that making plans can be difficult. Know that they are working hard, and may seem distant now, but this won’t last forever, and they will have much more free time soon. We know they will thank you!
