Since 2012, UNC has offered an inclusive Lactation Support Program to assist individuals to continue their lactation journey. This program is directed by Alena Clark, PhD, MPH, RDN, CLC, Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Yvette Lucero-Nguyen, MPH, Director of the Center for Women’s and Gender Equity. The Lactation Support Program offers eight Lactation Stations throughout campus where individuals can express their milk in a private place, a lactation support policy for students, staff and faculty and a privacy screen rental program. We have had over 2,000 visits to our Lactation Stations in the past eight years!

For information on upcoming virtual lactation support groups, check out our blog on the Virtual Lactation Peer Support Groups.
